Hello there.
We began our biography reports today. We got so into the movie however, that we lost track of time (well Ms. Erickson did). We will finish them up tomorrow. They are getting pretty far on their projects, and tomorrow we will put them all together on the boards. Then...share time!!! I can't wait to share all that we have learned on these three important people and the Civil Rights Movement! They really have learned a lot and have had a good time doing so.
Tomorrow is Hats for Hope. If your child would like to wear a hat they may do so for the entire day for a 50 cent donation. What a great way to help out our very own here at Bitterroot. I know I will be be wearing my cowboy hat for sure.
Tomorrow is also the Venture Theater performances. The primary kids will watch it at 9:30. We will watch it at 1:00. You get to watch it at 6:00!!!! They should be good and ready for ya when that time comes. They have all worked so hard, and they are so excited to show off their talents. I can't wait to see it all come together tomorrow.
Homework tonight is a math sheet on congruent and similar shapes. We had this lesson a week or so again. I want to see what they have put into long term memory. Remember: congruent means the shapes have BOTH the same shape and are the same size. Similar means they are the same shape, but not necessarily the same size.
I am sad that we have just not been able to get our MT History in yet this week. We have just been having too much fun with Civil Rights. This morning, in CC Meeting, we read a book about the bus that Rosa Parks rode on came to life and told a little girl the story. Ask your child what their favorite part of the story was, and then ask them what they had their bus say yesterday. If they can tell you both write ROSA in the planner for $20.
The quarter has come and gone, and we somehow forgot to end our money system. Therefore, in the next two weeks kids will be given opportunities to spend, spend, spend. One way they will spend $500 for sure is the upcoming Valentine's Day Party. We are out of school on Feb. 14th for our long weekend break, so we will celebrate it the day before (which is a half day) on the 13th. I will send home a list of kid's names next week so they may begin to make their valentine cards. Kids MUST make a card for ALL students in class if participating. They may make ones for other friends in other classes as well. All but three students bought in already today. Wow! Great job saving your money this last quarter! Those that have not, will need to do so by the 12th. We will also form committees next week. Your child can be on the decorations, food, or entertainment committee. I will send home a notice and explanation of the committee that your child has selected for your approval before we begin planning to make sure it is okay with you as well.
We have a spelling test tomorrow. Please help review those words one last time.
Lastly, a happy, happy birthday to Robby! He brought some yummy, colorful cupcakes to sell in class today. He made quite the fortune! Hoping he has a great birthday night doing something fun! :0)
Have a great night!
